2011 — A Vintage Year
On our way home from Poole we noticed that a sprint was being held in Westonzoyland, and went back the next day
And they're off
Blink and you'll miss them
Nothing as glamorous as brolly girls here!
In mid-July the Tornado, a steam locomotive built recently by enthusiasts, passed through our home town (4.8 MB WMV)
A few days later
we took the bikes to Fairford for one of the days just before the main Royal International Air Tattoo, when the aircraft were arriving and practising their routines
It's a lot less formal than the main event; it was a very enjoyable day, parked just off the west end of the runway, with no crowds to contend with
Taking advantage of our new part time working pattern we took the bikes out for a spin on a sunny Monday in August
The Bristol Bike
Show is held annually in August, when the bikes take over the streets in a small area of Bristol city centre
There were some real street burners on display(!), . . .
. . . some nice paintwork . . .
. . . and some rather more tongue in cheek artwork
We spent Andy's 50th birthday at Duxford
The museum also carries out a lot of valuable restoration work
