The Amber Fort

 

The Amber Fort is a few miles outside Jaipur, and is one of the most spectacular forts in India, at least partly because of its dramatic setting.

We made the final trip up to the fort by jeep . . .

 

. . . but many people made the trip by elephant

 

It's hard to describe the atmosphere, with elephants, Indian music and extensive views over the surrounding hills

 

There was a constant stream of elephants delivering tourists to the fort
